It wasn't long ago that I was in the Army National Guard. Even for me it's hard to believe and needless to say I don't miss it all that much. It just wasn't a fit, if you know what I mean. I absolutely loved my job as a journalist but the boots and the rut sack that came with I could have lived without. In my fours year as a part time solider I'd have to admit that I over came some trying times and getting deployed was a time I'd like to forget. I did meet so many great people that I thought I'd never see again until this last weekend when I was asked to photograph a National Guard event. What fun it was to see a few from my old unit (Hillagess, Corwell, and then there was Jamie, the one all the gals in my unit thought was hot.... he was alright. lol!
Anyways, it was the fancy ballroom portraits ...lots of beautiful dresses and men and women in their fancy uniforms. It was a wonderful feeling being able to provide a service that the Army National Guard helped me pay for.
